In 2005 and 2006, 100% of the library leadership of FOKL, KLTA, and KLA pledged and gave!
2007
Back by popular demand Dr. James Dodson of Braren, Mulder & German Associates, Inc. presents two Tri-Conference programs “Fundraising for Noncapital Projects” and “Investment Opportunities for Library Support Organizations.”
More than 30 gift baskets for sale at Tri-Conference. “Bogey on Over to the Book Trivia Bee” has nine teams competing for the “Maltese Falcon” statuette.
KLA-EF Board approves funding to partially underwrite the KLA operating budget. Scholarships through March for continuing education partially underwritten by KLA-EF funds. Recipients: LeAnn Lowe, Christie Bolton, Heather King, Catherine Newland, Robin Clark.
2006
Scholarships for continuing education are partially underwritten by KLA-EF funds. Recipients: Joan Cales Harry Willems, Rita Sevart, Nathan Poell, Michaela Ayers, Chris Rippel, Terri Summey, Judith Cremer, Cheryl Jorgensen, Laura Loveless.
Kan-Ed Grant to Foundation provides polycom video conference devices to additional locations: Hamilton County Library ( Syracuse ), Salina Public Library,
Wichita Public Library, Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library, Johnson County Library ( Overland Park ), and Kansas City Kansas Public Library.
Gift baskets prepared by sixteen individuals and organizations raise over $1,300 at Tri-Conference. Winning team in the “Give a KLA Leg Up History Bee” gives the Leg Lamp a permanent home.
2005
"Give KLA a Leg Up Geography Bee” adds an international flair to Tri-Conference. KLA Government Documents Roundtable wins coveted larger than life-size traveling leg lamp trophy.
Scholarships for continuing education are partially underwritten by KLA-EF funds. Recipients: Betty Richardson, Eldora McMinimy, Kate Capps, Anne Liebst, Sha Li Zhang.
Tri-Conference first annual Kansas Author Dinner proceeds enhanced the Educational Foundation.
Kan-Ed Grant to Foundation provides polycom video conference devices to SWKLS in Dodge City , NWKLS in Norton, CKLS in Great Bend , SCKLS in Hutchinson , SEKLS in Iola, and Washburn University in Topeka . Libraries agree to host continuing education and policy meetings for area libraries.
